The Law Library

This is situated at the Faculty of Law on the Main Campus. It is a walking distance from the Main Library. The Library was opened in December, 1984 to staff and students of the Faculty of Law. It may also be used by students of other Faculties as well as students and legal researchers from other Universities with the permission of the Law Librarian.

Its collections are mainly law texts, journals, reports, and legal documents and materials in related disciplines. It has a total stock of about 8,400 volumes of books and Law Reports and about 100 Journal titles totaling about 2000 volumes.

The Library has a seating capacity of 150. It is headed by a senior professional assisted by other professionals support staff. The Library has remained modestly current in the acquisition of relevant texts in relation to law.

All fresh law students are expected to register at the Main Library. This registration is renewed in the Law Library at the beginning of their second year and subsequent sessions until they graduate. It is obligatory for all graduating students to obtain a clearance at the Main Library as well as at the Law Library.

The Law Library provides full Library services, including reprographic services. Some of the collections of the Library are under close access because of the incessant theft and mutilation of law materials in Law Libraries nationwide. The Library is automated and it enjoys internet connectivity.
